Last minute Heartbreak

Mike, Robinson and new player Nathan are back.

Castlepoint Rangers were the better side early on but with little trouble for Stroud to deal with, a neat passing move earned the lead with a close range tap in.

Penalty to Cillit Bang FC

From the back Cillit Bang FC work their way into the opposition penalty box, as B. Stroud brings the ball into the box the opposing defender wins the tackle while falling down taking B. Stroud also as they collide, the penalty is given perhaps unlucky for the defender as it was a good tackle.

Stroud side foots his penalty into the bottom right side of the goal to take his goal tally into double figures for the season.

CBFC showed some promise in the match with Nathan showing good skill to evade the two defenders but sadly getting underneath his shot too much. M. Stroud having little to do so far made a terrific one handed save from a header at point blank range while coming back across goal, as the shooting from Castlepoint Rangers was appalling to say the least and not putting CBFC under any pressure.

Goal 2-1 // Kick in 8 Lucho

After winning the corner and kick in Lucho smashes his shot straight into the bottom left corner from the kick in, the keeper attempting to save it ruling the kick in a goal.

Second Half

It was pretty even in the second half, Castlepoint Rangers drawing level after a fine finish, Mike had a great chance but scuffed his shot, Robinson's header back across goal hitting the inside of the post and somehow staying out.

Out done in the shots department Castlepoint Rangers just couldn't get their shots anywhere near M. Stroud's goal. The Cillit Bang FC defense was all up to B. Stroud. Nathan and Robinson had gone up front leaving Wrench wandering in the middle of the park and Mike at the back, the shape of the team was lost and there was not structure to the play and the match was still to play for as the last quarter was to play. M. Stroud's goal kicks were given away too cheaply, CBFC players were chasing shadows as the pass and move was too much to handle as Castlepoint Rangers kept wasting glorious chances.

Nathan had a flurry of shots but his best chance he smashed it straight at the keeper from deep inside the box, either side he would have scored.

With a minute to go finally Castlepoint Rangers get a shot on target which proves too much for M. Stroud to save, in an attempt to save the match Wrench's shot is deflected for a corner and B. Stroud's last second header is marginally over the crossbar. Did CBFC deserve to lose the match, maybe if you look at the chances Castlepoint Rangers created but it was harsh when you compare it to the best chances CBFC had.
