CBFC Strong Start Fades into a Point
Cillit Bang FC welcomed another player into their ranks today, with Mike injured and regular subs unavailable Daruish made an appearance in defence as they face second from bottom Two Left Feet.
Goal 1-0 // 17 Wrench - Assist 14 B. Stroud
From the goalkick the Stroud's combine and the ball is sent out to the left centre for Wrench. Wrench evades 3 players attempts to dispossess him, cuts in from the left and scores in off the post.
Goal 2-0 // 17 Wrench - Assist 1 M. Stroud
M. Stroud reacts quickly and passes to Wrench on the wing. Wrench turns as soon as the ball reaches him to evade the opposition player then with a turn of pace kicks it past the onrushing defender, as he reaches the box a simple sidefoot into the far side of the goal gives Cillit Bang FC a deserved 2 goal lead and Wrench's 15th of the season.
Two Left Feet pulled a goal back with a scorcher from 25 yards as the ball arches into the top left corner. They should have equalised soon after from a counter attack with 2 golden chances in a goalmouth scramble, M. Stroud saving the first on target effort, the second goes wide.

In a good move, Lucho picks out Lambon with a lofted ball, he cushions the ball down for Stroud to backheel it into Wrench's path, a simple shot underneath the keeper earns him his third hat-trick of the season.
Second Half
Disaster at the start as a goal was conceded within 13 seconds bringing the scoreline nervously back to a 1 goal lead.
Two Left Feet found it difficult to break through the defense to score an equaliser, this provided Cillit Bang FC to try and re-establish the 2 goal lead, unfortunately the goal never came as the players were tiring and in desperate need of a sub. In the 24th minute from a set piece M. Stroud's save fell straight to the opposition attacker to equaliser.
In response Lucho picks out Wrench from an awkward position, Wrench shows a neat bit of skill to get through on goal and passes across the area, the keeper rushes to the other side of his goal to keep out Stroud's shot which bounces off the ground for Lambon whose effort bounces off the post. Thankfully Two Left Feet scupper their immediate counter attack exposing in behind CBFC.
Lucho wins the ball and picks out Wrench on the wing, as the referee allows advantage after Lucho is fouled the cross comes in, Lambon and Lucho's shots are saved, B. Stroud's volley is deflected agonisingly wide.
So the season comes to the end and Cillit Bang FC finish off with a point in a competitive match which they could and should have won.
