Fozzie Returns to Welcome Clean Sheet

Team News: Fozzie makes his return to the lineup after 3 months out with his finger injury in a full squad missing just Oscar.

Previous Results: A well taken Beaker hattrick settled the match last time round in a strong win against a team struggling at the bottom of the table.

Interesting Fact: The entire Steau Needarest team themselves as a whole have scored less goals than Swedish Chef on his own so far this season.

First Half

A passing move involving a Kermit chipped ball over the defenders had Swedish Chef holding the ball up to win a free kick just outside the box.

Goal 1-0 // 12 Rizzo - Free Kick

Goal in the first minute as Rizzo's shot from the free kick against the ball ricochets off into the bottom corner for his 10th goal of the season.

Steau Needarest had nowhere to go as the pressure was greeted with shots on target the keeper had done well to save, taking a blow to the face for his troubles. Beaker, Kermit, Rizzo and Gonzo had all gone very close to doubling the lead in what was a dominant performance, but the lack of goals could have been undone at any moment to a counter attack. It took almost eight minutes until Fozzie would get his first touch of the half just showing how on top CBFC were. A mistake would sparked the first save of the match from Fozzie, the culprit A. Muppet passing without looking gave the possession away however to his rescue the opposition striker's shot is saved. Beaker looking to add to his early season hattrick managed to hit the crossbar after his cross to the back stick at Rizzo was tipped onto the bar. Fozzie was lucky to avoid a booking when he went in hard from a counter attack sliding in looking to win the ball in typical fashion. Steau Needarest managed a shot off target yet looked timidly unthreatening in the first half, some turn of fortune would be greeted as they were still in this match very much so.

Second Half

After the break things did not change, plenty of shots in on the Steau Needarest goal, no rewards. A chance of their own was created after breaching the CBFC defense, with Beaker isolated 2 on 1 a square ball is not punished as the shot is skewed wide. Finishing was not to blame on the closest shave on the 22nd minute, a chipped kick in was met with a first time turn and volley dipping and crashing back off the crossbar in a very very unlucky situation for the player... such great skill. The same player was in from a kick in, Big Bird trying to edge in front is eased out completely leaving a free shot on target but the very poor shot is straight at Fozzie with the whole of the goal available, Beaker mops up with a goalline clearance.

Cillit Bang FC were still on top of the game the opposite goalkeeper having endless goal kicks to take, camped in the Steau Needarest half dangerous football was played by the defenders and midfielders to get out of the countless situations, the pure pressure on the players gave them no time to breathe, pressure especially by A. Muppet who was always breathing down the necks prowling for the ball. Steau Needarest goalkeeper was counting up the saves he was making and the lead should really have been doubled either through Rizzo or Gonzo. Rizzo was frustratingly always finding the keeper with his attempts, Gonzo was laid off and the shooting accuracy he shows in training was nothing like the ballooned shot over the bar under no pressure.

The match had somehow ended with just one goal scored considering the other 14 shots on target saved by both keepers. Rizzo's lone goal ends Swedish Chef's record of scoring in every win/draw (10 matches) since November 2010. Most importantly, Fozzie returns to the action securing his second clean sheet and a chance to overtake TDFC into fifth very much a possibility.
