Freak goal sucker punch
Full team switch around this week as Kermit joins Gonzo on the sidelines with a broken toe, A Muppet makes his debut in the new team shirt, Matt Long is called in to help out.
With a blend of faces who hadn't had much match practice as a team it was going to be an interesting game.
The early stages proved difficult as no passing rhythm was established and Alliance Utd took advance with some shots, Stroud making a great block with the first. Rizzo coming on as sub instantly bowls forward from the back and unleashes a thunderous shot in the top corner tipped on to the bar from the goalkeeper, the ball comes back down, Rizzo is the first to react and another fierce hard shot is saved.
Little can be said for the rest of the half as both sides barely threatened the opposition goal.
Similar to the first half, Cillit Bang FC were not producing anything of real threat in the final third, Stroud made a couple of good saves to stop the forward scoring. The rest of the match was back and forward without any real conviction or quality in the play.
The chemistry for Cillit Bang FC was lacking and with no real positioning throughout the match, a draw was looking the way the match would go. However, a freak goal direct from a corner kick was a sucker punch.
A flurry of last minute shots from Swedish Chef and Big Bird were unable to test the keeper.
On the last kick of the game, Stroud's poor pass and Swedish Chef's slowness to react lets the opponent in to score on the final whistle.
