Utter domination punished
Oscar comes back into the side in goal, Long and Rizzo come into the starting line-up, with A. Muppet on holiday.
Cillit Bang FC started the match like a house on fire, and could of been at least 4 goals up had it not been for some good goalkeeping. Swedish Chef won the ball back well resulting in good link up play with Matt Long but his fierce shot is palmed off for a corner, Beaker finds the Chef with an early ball, his shot placed in the bottom corner is poked away by the keeper's toe.
Not long after Rizzo dinks the ball into the centre of the box, Kermit dashing onto the ball misses out on the goal with a soft connection. With Oscar doing nothing in goal, it was evident to see that the team who had not lost in the league to date were clearly sturggling to keep up with the pace of CBFC's play, whenever the ball was in their possession they cracked under pressure and cheaply lost the ball. Rizzo was latching onto balls floated into the box, from the goalkick his best effort was nodded millimetres past the post.
The ball was 90% of the time in the opposition half for CBFC yet couldn't trouble the goalkeeper as the half drew on. Gonzo having a tame effort after an attack broker down. The whole team worked well in the next move as Long clears to Rizzo, some nifty skill later and a lay off to Beaker, Kermit receives the ball on the edge of the area unfortunately he hits it straight into the defender.
Finally after 9 minutes of play coming from a poor touch on Kermit's part I'm Sure UK got a dangerous move put together, Oscar doing well moving across his box push the striker wide shutting out the shot. From the resulting corner very, very poor marking in the box gifts I'm Sure UK with an easy goal to undeservedly go into the lead.
Rizzo immediately gets a chance at goal from the pass off Big Bird, poor control lets it roll to the keeper. Pressure from Beaker and Swedish Chef and a corner is won from the turn and shot. Big Bird's volley is also blocked as pressure is continually applied.
Penalty to Cillit Bang FC
On the stroke of half-time a penalty was won, Big Bird passes to Rizzo, holding off the defender he picks out Swedish Chef's cutting run, the goalkeeper dives in feet first.
Penalty Miss Swedish Chef confident from his earlier in the season penalty hits a powerful penalty inches over the bar. His knee not fully over the ball the opportunity to equalise was not taken.
The referee gives a talking to I'm Sure UK after the half-time whistle goes, unhappy over the penalty conceded.
Second Half
More of the same followed on from the first half, a bad touch by Swedish Chef broke down a swift goodcounter move by Big Bird and Rizzo. Long playing some good passes sprinted down the wing after the ball crossing in the ball which was crowded out from the defense. I'm Sure UK had an almighty great chance to double their lead had it not been for a poor attempt. Shots of any note were limited to difficult attempts, Rizzo way off target with his.
The lead was doubled after a long goalkick leaves Kermit taking a kick-in deep in the Cillit Bang FC corner, dangerously passing across the face of his goal past Big Bird into space, Long's desperate attempt to block out the attacker is unlucky as the ball drops kindly for a swivel and shot leaving the ball trickle into the bottom corner.
2 goals down and Cillit Bang FC just couldn't find that spark to the back in the match, Long's on target volley from the knock down of Rizzo after the great pass from Beaker the only shot the keeper had to deal with for most of the whole half. Oscar made a great diving save to keep out the shot and taking a whack in the process, a little unfortunate after the attacker twice won the ball with his hand off Beaker's attempted tackles.
Oscar again came to the rescue after smothering another shot this time coming on the break exploiting the numbers at the back. This was altogether turned into a counter attack by Rizzo winning the ball producing a stepover to confuse the defender and send Swedish Chef off on the edge of the box, the return pass was struck and palmed onto the post to go out for a corner.
Gonzo came back on for 30 secs, having a shot from the kick-in which the keeper matched. That was the story of the match as Cillit Bang FC could not turn the domination of the match into any goals. I'm Sure UK admitted this was the worst game they had played yet, whether that from their standards or perhaps just the pressure from the boys in blue, they scored their chances and so won the match.
