Detailed Synopsis of the match with team news with a few screenshots from the game.
With Beaker making his 100th appearance for the side there was a possible chance of Swedish Chef joining him as a centurion with 100 goals if he could score a brace. AFC Poole Mark II sought some revenge with quick shots off the mark, Fozzie making an early save with the rebound falling to a forward for a hit over the bar. The same player who had a similar chance in the recent cup match between the sides.
Goal 1-0 // 17 Swedish Chef - Assist 4 Beaker
Despite both sides switching possession Beaker was there to pick up the ball in his half playing the ball forward, Kermit close to controlling the ball had Swedish Chef as back up on the pass to spin past the defender rifling the ball into the net for his 99th goal.
Upping the pace and barraging the opponent's goal Kermit latched onto Fozzie's goal kick to produce a sweetly struck volley. CBFC with a bigger pool of players this week had the option of Hoss, with immediate effect his dribbling into the opponents half and close control set off a salvo of shots. Big Bird hitting two in a couple of seconds and a Chef flick shot caused growing concerns.
Goal 2-0 // 14 Kermit - Assist Hoss
Quick counter attack goal from a defensive corner with scorer Kermit having been on the pitch for a mere 16 seconds. Beaker cushioned the corner down, Hoss paraded forward beating his man while finding Kermit free on the edge of the area. The first touch was crisp, around the diving keeper he poked the ball through the legs of the backtracking defender.
Pressure didn't stop coming as Hoss and Kermit combined again with an excellent pass from Hoss for Kermit to have a free shot on goal, he had the chance to score 2 goals in a minute and possibly go on to rival A. Muppet's quickest hat-trick. Shots on target were coming thick and fast with Gonzo producing the first shot off target, a shame he missed his chance to score his first of the season after running undetected into the box from Kermit's quick kick in, the left footed shot was unused in favour of the more difficult right sidefoot.
Goal 3-0 // 14 Kermit - Assist Hoss
Kermit's second goal came just minute over his first, Hoss again picking the ball up from deep exchanging simple passes with the scorer, before rolling the ball behind him leaving Kermit to smash the ball into the net. Kermit scores his first brace in over a year.
Goal 4-0 // (Swedish Chef's 100th) 17 Swedish Chef - Assist Hoss
AFC Poole now were struggling to keep up, everytime CBFC were on the ball a goal was likely. As Beaker wins the ball, Hoss passes the ball out of defence to Chef to turn his defender, shoot from a long way out to reach the milestone of a century of goals. The Poole goalkeeper was close to most of the goals, however everytime he was beaten by the pure power these shots were coming.
Goal 5-0 // 14 Kermit - Assist Hoss
Winning the ball from kick off yet again Hoss broke forward down the left wing firing off a shot, Kermit reacted first on the rebound to lift the ball into the net for his first hat-trick since October 2010. The quickest hat-trick in 6-a-side to date coming in around 3 minutes 31 seconds and rivalling A. Muppet's previous hat-trick back in 5-a-side. Hoss sets up four goals in a row.
Goal 6-0 // Hoss - Assist 1 Fozzie
No let up as the goals continue to fly in a terrific first half performance, so good in fact that Fozzie's short goal kick provided an assist to Hoss. Simply dribbling forward, beating his man he worked himself space on the left wing to stroke the ball across goal into the side netting.
Gonzo playing in a forward position was unlucky in his search of a goal having strong chance especially his second. The ball laid on a plate from Beaker's arching kick in with a lovely Big Bird lay off was placed over the crossbar. AFC Poole Mark II also with a chance volleyed over while Oscar seeked to take advantage of a poor goalkick, in the rush of the moment he couldn't quite get the required direction on the ball. Big Bird like Gonzo playing up front for a change forced a corner off the shot after a great move found him free in the box.
Goal 7-0 // 17 Swedish Chef - Assist Hoss
Beaker sends in the corner dropping centre of the goal for Swedish Chef to produce a looping header under the bar for not only his first header ever in a match but completes the perfect hat-trick. First hat-trick in 35 games with Beaker producing another assist to go back on top of the season's playmaker charts. Season 3 Match 1 was the last game where 2 players from CBFC scored hat-tricks in the same match, on that occasion there were 3 - Kermit, Hoss and Bang!
Goal 7-1 // AFC Poole Mark II
A quick corner kick aimed at the near post is taken away by Fozzie from the player looking to heel chop the ball into the net however the ball finds itself in the middle of a triangle of players as the lone Poole player is there to wipe away the clean sheet.
To their credit Poole's players heads did not drop as they continued to correct the score in their favour hitting the post in the process. This attacking made them susceptible to the counter, working quickly from a corner Kermit played through Hoss, he cut back inside drilling the ball low towards the bottom left corner winning a corner off the save.
Goal 7-2 // AFC Poole Mark II
Poole were making a statement as a chipped ball from a kick in towards the lone striker was turned in from a tight angle.
Goal 8-2 // 17 Swedish Chef - Assist 4 Beaker
The goals kept coming at a rate of knots, from kick off Kermit, Hoss to Beaker a quality through ball picking out Chef's run is met with a first time finish celebrated like Drogba does. The first 6-a-side quad-trick and funnily enough the first since the week after Kermit's last hat-trick also.
Fozzie made a few saves including a close range mixup he did well to stop. What was interesting was that despite the scoreline AFC Poole Mark II were not far behind in the shots department.
Goal 9-2 // 8 Big Bird - Assist 5 Gonzo
Wrapping up the game in style Fozzie's goal kick to Gonzo's sharp movement was met with a pass down the line. Big Bird turning / setting himself with the ball in the air volleyed sweet as can be into that far side netting for his 5th goal of the season.
Again Fozzie made another stop on the final whistle from the inside heel shot to keep that goal difference looking healthy. The all round play from all players was superb in an entertaining game full of great goals and landmarks.
