Detailed Synopsis of the match with team news with a few screenshots from the game.
If you were watching the Euro 2012 final on 1st July 2012 then you should be ashamed when 5 minutes later a far more important match at Littledown, Bournemouth was taking place between Cillit Bang FC and Jabalani's Legacy. Chris having recently played for CBFC in the cup was lining up against his former allies for Jabalani's Legacy. Having scored a goal in the last minute for the team in blue he spent the next few minutes against them on the defensive as the players with added Rizzo this week looked to continue the devastating form from their last match. But the weeks break (due to an England Quarter Final in Euro 2012) had a negative effect on the early finishing. Kermit forced two saves from the keeper but it was Chef and Rizzo who should have scored twice. Rizzo played a bad pass for a Chef tap in while on another link up a bad shot choice in the first minute let off JL.
Goal 1-0 // 14 Kermit - Assist 4 Beaker
A quick one two off the kick in with Beaker Kermit strikes the ball well into the near corner, drilled well enough to give the keeper a tough ask to keep out the goal.
Goal 2-0 // Own Goal - Assist 5 Gonzo
A poor goal kick is won for the umpteenth time by Kermit, knocking the ball to Rizzo a huge switch in play is put out to Gonzo. The first time cushion of the ball is kept under control well with pressure on the ball so close to the line, Gonzo plays in the cross quickly to Kermit with the defender poking the ball into the net.
JL struggled to pass as well as they normally do and it took a while for them to get going by producing a number of shots towards the impeding whistle. Fozzie made some saves with the first forced onto the bar after a simple pass and move down the wing.
Goal 3-0 // 12 Rizzo
Rizzo makes the lead comfortable just before the half's end, Rizzo's clever flick to Chef almost provides a one on one but with the keeper off his line quick the clearance out to Rizzo gives him the chance to stride forward smashing the ball into the net.
JL come forward again with little time remaining from a bad half shooting wide.
With the start of the half starting similar to the first, Chef made a better attempt at the first chance than he did in the first half but still it was not enough to make the keeper sweat. Rizzo headed over off a Gonzo cross, while JL hit the woodwork twice with the post coming back off Fozzie's hand to fortunately go out for the corner instead of the goal.
CBFC Disallowed Goal
Gonzo's prompt kick in towards Rizzo took a direction towards the goal, having come off the inside of the crossbar hitting the line and back up onto the crossbar, Rizzo was there to benefit off the rebounds. The referee had already blown after judging the ball had crossed the line, goals are disallowed direct from kick ins. Rizzo was convinced the ball had not crossed the line but with the score as it was the repercussions were minimal.
Buoyed by the let off Jabalani's Legacy put on the pressure forcing possession in their favour to craft a brilliant moment to get back into the match. Fozzie saved an awkward bouncing first shot with Kermit twisting to clear the ball he fell over while the rebound was spectacularly volleyed over.
Goal 4-0 // 17 Swedish Chef - Assist 14 Kermit
With Kermit winning possession and knocking the ball past another player looking up his cross to Rizzo is cut out, Swedish Chef intercepts the player and places the ball into the goals side netting. A 4-0 score which could have been oh so different a minute earlier.
As both sides continued to create chances CBFC came first with Big Bird winning the ball passing to Beaker. First time lobbed pass to Rizzo was headed across goal for Gonzo to cushion a difficult chance across goal. Gonzo in defence on the other hand was needed to make a strong challenge to stop a well worked kick in.
Goal 5-0 // 12 Rizzo - Assist 14 Kermit
Big Bird launches a kick in next to the corner flag down field to Gonzo, his pressure forces the keeper to drop the ball on the outskirts of his area. The keeper's clearance is intercepted, with a few passes the ball finds its way to Kermit, briefly losing the ball he wins it back passing sideways to Rizzo. With options Gonzo / Beaker left and right he strode forward placing the ball into the bottom corner.
With 14 goals having been scored in the last 2 games playmaker Beaker surprisingly had gone 130 minutes on the pitch without a shot until he had a crack from range with a few minutes to go. Despite facing a tough score the opposition were left to rue a lack of killer instinct in the many dangerous positions they found themselves in. A hatful of chances were remarkably wasted including the best and last chance of the game when breaking down a move the JL player broke past Big Bird, with Fozzie to beat he dragged the shot frustratingly wide to leave Fozzie with another clean sheet.
Big Bird called it himself when concluding the day, the team scored more goals on the night to overshadow Spain's Euro 2012 cup win.
