League Season Ends With Whimper
Team News: No Rizzo, No A. Muppet, No Big Bird, No Oscar, No subs. Just 5 players.

First Half
Only 5 players were available against Shakhtar Lastnight, a team full of Rizzo's mates who was unavailable to take part in the tasty clash. Thankfully Shakhtar had just the 5 also for the strange spectacle of 5-a-side on a 6-a-side pitch. More running and space for all. Shakhtar Lastnight replacing the team Shoot Off Site who were early season favourites to win the title but dropped out of the league.
Penalty to Shakhtar Lastnight
Passing move forward and trickery found the ball to the striker inside the box, after sidestepping Fozzie the shot is stopped my Chef's arm on the line. Unable to do anything about it and clearly handball the penalty is given for the first time in a few seasons.
Penalty Miss Shakhtar Lastnight - Saved 1 Fozzie
Fozzie coming off the line smothers the ball as the shot is fired close to the middle of the goal with Gonzo clearing the ball away. Another penalty save to Fozzie.
With around 20% of the possession it was a case of chasing the team for the second week in a row as the ball was passed around. Chasing the ball was the name of the game.
Goal 0-1 // Shakhtar Lastnight
After winning back the ball, giving it away so cheaply was hard to take especially considering the finish on the first goal. A cutback outside the box was rifled into the top corner. A lovely first time finish but it should never have got to that.
Only 12 minutes until the first shot was finally created, with Kermit bringing the ball forward and Chef fed the service he could not get his shot on target on the way to the floor. Kermit wasted no time when his chance came volleying the ball on target from inside his own half.
Second Half
Goal 0-2 // Shakhtar Lastnight - Own Goal 1 Fozzie
Drama, controversy and the unbelievable. Straight from the second half kick-off the long range shot is saved onto the crossbar but bounces in off Fozzie's back. The referee unsure, the goal is allowed to be given after protests from Shakhtar's players. Despite some enquiries the goal is allowed according to the rules. If a little bizarre the unfortunate way the own goal came about.

Direct play and an unstoppable shot inside the area put CBFC far out of reach for the game after the two goals in the first minute were killer.
Yellow Card - Shakhtar Lastnight
Despite scoring to go three goals to the good, the referee was unhappy with regular back chat from the scorer, after ignoring the ref's words and continuing the yellow card was shown with a view to a red.
Goal 1-3 // 14 Kermit - Assist 5 Gonzo
Finally something to shout out about. Exchanging a few short passes with Shakhtar playing deeper than usual Kermit broke inside with Gonzo playing him through for a finish back across the keeper.
A few shots from Shakthar proved dangerous and could of scored with a beautiful volley however missing the target was Shakthar's major issue with shot after shot they suffered the same problem Parcelona FC did. The shots were going wide an unacceptable amount of times for the quality the team possessed in creating those chances. If CBFC had only half of those chances the matches would be seeing a different outcome based off the stats of the players, problem is creating a consistent supply of chances against the tougher sides. Still there has been an improvement.
Goal 1-4 // Shakhtar Lastnight
Winning the ball from a pass yet again the defender breaks forward having a pop at goal, hitting Fozzie on the thin side to deflect into the net instead of away. Swedish Chef uses the opportunity to earn a few minutes break with a brash clearance out of the pitch.
Goal 1-5 // Shakhtar Lastnight
The marking was tight all game and any moment CBFC had on the ball was pounced upon, another dispossession came with a pass across the goal for the Shakthar keeper (turned outfield player for the end of the match) to net himself the fifth goal.
Kermit's attempt to score from kick off was met with a sarcastic remark from the replacement keeper. Chef tried the goal from the next kick off to not much accuracy but it was as close as he was going to get - the only side he had not scored against in the league. A lot of the passes were finding themselves cut out, there was no plan B, the tactics didn't change, CBFC could not create the upset.
The league season ended with another overall improvement (4th) but a lingering despair about all 3 of the new teams proving too much of a challenge to deal with. 4th last season got promotion. Will the same happen again?
