First Half

A poor quality of football befell this match in most areas as the start of the match showed. Poor passing, control and general play did not provide a great spectacle for the crowd. Kermit and Beaker both fell a bit short on crosses in the box but it was Kermit who came the closest to the first threat. A kick in floated in was almost attacked with his header, the keeper caught the cross a fraction before.

Chances falling for both sides not taken, A. Muppet's poor kick in had conceded possession in a dangerous position but to his rescue the left footed shot across goal was way wide. Kermit almost scored the first goal of the match after an excellent run into the far post area. Chef's cross from the kick in had bounced just on point of Kermit's shot causing the ball to rise painfully onto the crossbar for the first time of the season.

Kermit receiving the ball from Fozzie's goal kick immediately goes past a player before evading another incoming tackle and shoots only for the keeper to parry the ball to his left. Behind the defence Swedish Chef is there to prod home the rebound just before the keeper can clamp down on the ball.

Neither side created anything of interest up to the half time whistle.

Second Half

Chances for both sides in the opening of the half, AFC Boscombe scooped a shot over the bar. Gonzo's kick in deep into the opposite corner found Kermit challenging the keeper with his immediate shot on target. A glorious chance to double the lead fell to CBFC from a counter attack, with Kermit intercepting the pass keeping the ball in play he looked up to pick out his teammate Gonzo. Taking a touch to set himself with plenty of time he shot disappointingly straight at the keeper.

Needing a goal AFC Boscombe were starting to look dangerous as they were the team who looked liked scoring with far better passes and possession in the final third then their opponents. Much like the previous game it took a while until Fozzie needed to make a save, this time on the nineteenth minute. The shooting was not up to scratch either as decent goalscoring opportunities were continually scuppered and this continued right through the half until AFC Boscombe changed round the tactics. The defender had moved into an up front position, firstly forcing Fozzie into a save he preceded to have his header denied by the far post.

It had been a poor half for Cillit Bang FC, Fozzie having goalkicks well into double figures the team just could not string any sort of passes together. Counter attacking though it seemed the only real way of scoring any type of cutting edge was not there to make those precious moments count. An example being when Kermit worked himself into the middle from the right and placing a pass through the centre of defence, Chef was pounced on by the keeper before he could turn. On the edge Kermit lost the ball, as Beaker quickly moves the ball inward to Gonzo his pass fails to reach Kermit.

Fozzie's clean sheet was under close threat as a kick in from the goalkeeper was launched towards the defender turned striker, his flick on header the wrong side of the top corner. Gonzo defensively got stuck in on some balls around the edge of the area, shutting out the crosses, with all the AFC Boscombe players pouring forward Chef benefitted from a Gonzo clearance by beating the defender to the loose ball, however an attempted tackle did enough to make his touch towards goal that little bit heavy enabling the keeper to win the ball off him. Gonzo continued to clear every ball that came his way as the opposition struggled to find a flow in the final moments. Another 1-0 win and clean sheet adding on to the run of six wins in the last seven games.
