Detailed Synopsis of the match with team news with a few screenshots from the game.
Feeling their way into the game both sides had early chances in the late kick off, Beaker had broke through on the right wing but his cross let him down as the keeper collected the ball. Fozzie kept out two efforts one from a set piece pushing the shot onto the post, a let off after CBFC had let the free kick get taken without putting bodies in a wall. Creating clear cut chances was a problem, not enough bodies were in support quickly enough and the Serendipity players did well to get bodies back behind the ball.
A Gonzo kick in whipped in to Kermit's feet allowed him to flick the ball goalwards, but off the save the ball bounced awkwardly for Beaker when he tried a follow up shot. A. Muppet had an unbelievable chance after great work and forward pass from Gonzo, when in on goal he decided to pass across the box for any teammates, the attack was crafted so quick that the support had little time to help out in a frustrating moment for the team. The team would get themselves another chance in a super counter attack, starting with Kermit he combines with Gonzo, when Big Bird enters the opposition half Kermit finds him for him to unleash a piledriver kept out by the keeper.
Beaker and A. Muppet setup Kermit in succession, his long range strike was saved, the better chance off the kick in was taken well towards goal but to his horror the ball had beaten the keeper but hit the post. In response Big Bird came to the rescue of Fozzie after clearing the ball off the line. In response to the response Kermit received the ball from Beaker on the half way line before taking out his pursuer on the right wing, coming in field he took out his next victim cutting back on the outside, sadly for him the shot was straight at the keeper for him to catch.
A. Muppet started the half rolling with just his second shot on target of the year, a good strike from distance. Kermit found himself in a tight situation in the corner, producing a piece of skill he ran into trouble leaving Fozzie in charge to make a save. A. Muppet had noticed studs on one of the opposition players giving the referee no option but to halt the game for a moment as the culprit was asked to leave the pitch.
It was no secret that the CBFC team had a far, far better defensive record in the opening five games of the season, this was emphasised when a good one two had opened up space for a shot at Fozzie, making not just one but a double spectacular brave save while on the floor. On the goalline Swedish Chef cleared the ball off the attacker in a very close call.
It was CBFC's turn to cause some chaos in the Serendipity box but all shots came to nothing, Kermit's shot rebounded for Chef, his subsequent first time shot was blocked and the rebound rolled perfectly for a Big Bird thunderstrike however his connection on the shot let him down. One of these chances needed to be taken as another great chance arises, Beaker's excellent chip down the wing sets up a one two between Kermit and Swedish Chef to go in on goal, the shot should have been better but a simple pass across the edge of the box and A. Muppet was free.
Goal 0-1 // Serendipity United
Gonzo gets onto the end of the corner yet clears it straight to an attacker, he closes down with a tackle but the shot with the left foot curls into the far post.
The lead should of been doubled just after a minute however A. Muppet's heroics in clearing the ball off the attacker meant the ball could only hit the outside of the post.
Goal 0-2 // Serendipity United
From a goal kick the receiver of the ball has time to turn and pass, the scorer's run is not tracked allowing him to shoot and score across goal, a sloppy goal to concede.
CBFC instantly tried to hit back, a neat passing move from kick off had Beaker in on the left wing, his cross to Chef was cut out. In a far better chance Big Bird had intercepted a pass to set Chef and Kermit in a 2 on 1 position. Chef's indecision at that moment caused him to have his abysmal pass to Kermit blocked by the only defender. It was looking like one of those days as moments later Kermit this time miss hit his pass through to Chef.
Goal 0-3 // Serendipity United
Problems in the CBFC team with Fozzie unhappy with his teammates lack of interest and Kermit incensed. Fozzie's goal kick came straight back, as the attacker comes forward to put a 2 on 1 situation on Gonzo the pass across box allows the attacker to shoot freely. Fozzie's save loops the ball upwards however Chef tries to clear the ball too quickly as he falls over watching the ball bounce into the net. Another preventable goal and sadly that was game over.
Serendipity United continued to push for goals forcing Fozzie to make a one handed diving save from a header. With the last chance falling for Swedish Chef rounding the chasing defender he should of done better when he had just the keeper to beat on the final whistle which also puts Chef on his worst goalscoring run in each of his last six full seasons of three games. The team struggling to find the net once again.
