Detailed Synopsis of the match with team news with a few screenshots from the game.
Facing the fourth new and unknown side for the season in the last game of the first nine games and it was apparent how good they were. The table showed they had scored 59 goals and only conceded 3, a tough task in store especially in the wet conditions.
Goal 0-1 // AECC
After breaking on the corner was CBFC's play was shut down and Fozzie was needed to make a save, unfortunately for him his defenders were ball watching as the scorer came in for the rebound.
One side struggled to build the moves whereas the top side were passing the ball with confidence looking strong however poor finishing including some fortunate hashed volleys which somehow found their way as shots on target, it kept them only one goal in front.
Goal 0-2 // AECC
Very similar to the first goal, again with AECC playing concise passing in the opposite danger area this time finding the net first time as CBFC are unable to get out of their half.
Goal 1-2 // 14 Kermit - Assist 12 Rizzo
With what would become the only shot on target for the match Kermit passed the ball into the net from Rizzo's movement in the centre of the pitch finding his shot roll into Kermit's feet.
A. Muppet showed his craft, tackling the opposition before firing off a shot at goal, quite deceptively could have found been equaliser. Gonzo made sure the score did not move before the whistle for half time with another spectacular goalline clearance, scooping the ball off his boot while moving at pace just before the goalline. AECC taking a slight dip in performance still working a quality move.
Replacing goalkeepers at half time has been a regular occurrence to teams this season and so again AECC who admitted they switch keepers due to having no recognised number 1. It is amazing to consider they have only conceded so few up until now, Kermit being one of the select few. However CBFC started the half the better and missed their chance to get an equaliser while they were on top.
Goal 1-3 // AECC
Simple move from back to front using all but one player the crosser picked out the first half keeper to heel flick the ball doubling the lead.
Rizzo was becoming frustrated, normally the focal point of the game on this instance getting the ball enough was a struggle as he strikes for goal at kick off. The early pressure could not be replicated as the game edged close to the final whistle, the makeshift keepers had not one save to make all night, a bizarre stat. Fozzie though made just the nine saves a few spectacular ones including backtracking across his line to block a powerful well struck volley.
Goal 1-4 // AECC
After wanting to head off the pitch for a sub the scorer heads back from the touchline to smash through the fourth goal upon the final whistle.
