Detailed Synopsis of the match with team news with a few screenshots from the game.
Sunday's Best a new side to the league this season placed in the division above CBFC. As per the name the side have been on fire this season without dropping a single point in the first nine games. Another quality passing team, able to keep the ball with ease in the opposition half. Obviously high on confidence winning every week, the keeper showed frailties but the attack scored goals with very little effort.
Goal 1-4 // 14 Kermit - Assist Nick H
After conceding, Big Bird played in Nick from kick off. Nick played a lovely ball through two players in close proximity into the open space, Kermit latched onto the ball after coming inwards from the wing placing the ball in the far corner.
The problem with confidence is the goals that were preventable went in, lack of tracking the movement and the result was a punishment. The sixth goal should have been a kick in to CBFC but was wrongly awarded a goal kick and goal is scored from the immediate period of play.
Nick H went close on in the first few moments hassling the defender before striking just wide, the only shot off target of the half. Another 8 shots on target followed with 2 goals coming off them. It was just not enough to put any pressure on the opposition. In particular one player scored a couple of clever goals, one slaloming past defenders in the box before knocking the ball calmly back into the net, another coming from a shot rebound, controlling the ball and chipping the ball into the top corner with Fozzie standing to make the block. Fozzie made a few saves in the match but his goal was inundated too much for any type of reward on the saves. Big Bird moved up front in the final stages of the match, his header from Beaker's kick in was kept out from a diving save.
Goal 2-8 // Nick H - Assist 14 Kermit
In the pouring rain a perfectly well struck volley by Nick stood out from Kermit's dinked ball over the defence. A quality goal that deserved more recognition.
Goal 3-11 // 14 Kermit - Assist Nick H
Scoring the last of the game and the fourteenth in total Nick's classy flicked pass under pressure upon receiving the ball was sunday's best pass as it took out all but one solitary player on the opposition. Kermit showed some acceleration before slipping past the lone midfielder opting to shoot instead of squaring to Big Bird.
