In the roasting hot weather Cillit Bang FC enjoyed a decent first half with more shots and possession in the right direction. A counter attack quickly ending in a goal picked holes in the numbers thrown forward for a kick in. Hoss was key to a lot of the best chances and so the equaliser came from winning back the ball and forcing immediate pace onto the Lightning defenders. Hoss shot was saved however Gotze was on hand to poke the ball in. Gotze, Hoss, Lewandowski and Subotic all had excellent chances to score yet could not hit the target. Lew and Subotic in particular were in behind the defence with just the keeper to beat.
Lightning equalled up in the second half playing better passes and firing off more frequently in front of goal. Schieber took the lead with an excellent header from Sahin's cross on the dead ball. Looking likely for a win Lightning struck back immediately with a spell of possession working a shot high into the net. The winner came 5 minutes for full time the unmarked man headed goalwards from the cross in a similar goal to Schieber's earlier in the half. Daddy did his best to scramble across the line who had already made some decent saves earlier but had too much ground to cover on the occasion. Lewandowski or Gotze both had chances for a third.
