In another hot match for the players little could be said of the first half with both sides unable to dominate or fully test the keepers. Poole took the lead early countering well with a quick footed finish that gave defenders Sahin, Hummels and Daddy no chance to adjust themselves in time.
After going three nil down the side really needed to pull their finger out, a tough task in the heat. A little too late in the game Schieber scored a volley off Reus's kick in. The goal was cut short as a fourth was conceded down to a severe lack of concentration in marking, Daddy saved, rebound slotted in easy as you like. Schieber went on a run come the end of the match but with his shot saved Gotze followed up firmly in the top corner... just by the skin of his teeth.
