Two early goals including a sweet strike on the second from consecutive shots on target against a limp defensive force separated the sides. This left CBFC to face the task of coming from behind for the first time of the season. The chances were few and far between with subpar control and shooting the biggest downfall, pace was lacklustre allowing the Poole Lightning defenders a far easier task in defence. Lewandowski came the closest hitting the post towards the end of the first half. Sahin himself was on the end of a cracking ball sent into the box by Gundogan, his lunge on the ball on target yet half a step away from poking the ball past the keeper.
Poole Lightning held solid in defence winning most of the balls into the box. Sahin provided two of the three shots on target, Lewandowski's promising near post flick was pushed over the bar with Schieber smashing the crossbar with the last touch of the game. Lightning were well clear come the end and thus deserving of the three points by an absolute mile, the passing far superior with quick-fire goals in the second period taking advantage of slack marking.
