Well the misery continues with little light at the end of the tunnel. Having been struck down by the flu Hummels the focal point of the defensive structure of the team was ruled out and with Lewandowski the main goal threat feeling under the weather the spine of the team was severely disrupted. This was apparent after going 1-0 down around 10 seconds plus the glut of goals leaked come the end of the match.
Making his first appearance for the season in his new number 4 shirt, Subotic did what he does every new season - score on debut. Just for the 8th time. Reus back in the side after a one game absence found his team mate. Shielding the ball by turning around the defensive pressure Subotic placed the ball with his left boot into the net to equalise. Even though the game was just two minutes old, that was as good as the game got. Despite most of the team having individual chances to score, the net was left empty handed.
Passing forwards with conviction and marking were lacking leaving the side open to pressure too often, come the second half positionally the side had a nightmare, conceding goal after goal including a few well worked moves. Reus having hurt his knee with a superb tackle spent the second half on and off with Josh filling in to help out the side. The final whistle signalled a hammering.
